Well J.R.R. Tolkiens The Hobbit is about a hobbit who went adventuring with Dwarves for Gold and to try and wrestle their family ‘castle’ back. This Hobbit was Bilbo, and he wasn’t a very willing participant!

Bilbo was picked by Gandalf (a powerful magician) to be the 14th member of the group. And Gandalf picked him to be the thief. Which means it’s his job to work out how to get into Smaug the dragons home and steel the gold. That is of course assuming they can make it over the Lonely Mountains and through the dark corrupted Mirkwood.

So, in short, an excellent read for children and adults alike! If you haven’t read this book already now would be a very good time to start…
